WUMU ARCHITECTS aps
P015 → “NA-MA” 2024
The project envisions an architecturally radical transformation that embraces sustainability and modern functionality while preserving key structural elements. The facade will be entirely removed, allowing an influx of natural sunlight to penetrate the building’s core. This not only enhances the interior environment but also reduces the reliance on artificial lighting, contributing to energy efficiency.
In alignment with the goal of creating an environmentally responsible structure, solar panels will be integrated into the new facade and roof. These solar panels will harness renewable energy, providing a sustainable power source that aligns with modern ecological standards.
The existing load-bearing concrete structure will be retained, preserving the building’s original framework and minimizing the environmental impact of demolition. By keeping the foundational elements intact, the project ensures a balance between innovation and respect for the building’s architectural history. Finally, the transformed building will serve a new purpose, benefiting the local community and environment. Its design and function will contribute to a healthier and more sustainable neighborhood, reinforcing the connection between architecture and its surroundings. This transformation goes beyond aesthetics, aiming to create a building that is not only visually impactful but also environmentally and socially valuable.
