The city of Seoul is known for its bustling streets and high-rise buildings, but also boasts several beautiful mountains, including Namsan and Bukhansan. These mountains provide a welcome respite from the urban landscape and offer opportunities for outdoor recreation and relaxation. However, there is currently no direct connection between the green spaces at Namsan and Bukhansan, making it difficult for residents to fully enjoy the natural beauty of these areas.
To address this issue, we has proposed the creation of a new green belt over the Han river that would connect the green spaces at Namsan and Bukhansan. This green belt would be a linear park that runs alongside the river, creating a continuous green space that links the two mountains. The park would include walking and biking paths, as well as spaces for picnics, outdoor concerts, and other community events.
Connecting Namsan and Bukhansan with a green belt over the Han river would have several benefits. Firstly, it would provide Seoul’s residents with greater access to nature and green spaces, which can have a positive impact on mental health and well-being. Secondly, the green belt would help to reduce air and water pollution by creating a buffer between the urban core and the surrounding natural areas. Finally, it would create opportunities for economic development by attracting tourists and promoting outdoor recreation.
Connecting green spaces at Namsan and Bukhansan mountains with a new green belt over the Han river would provide numerous benefits for the city of Seoul, including improved access to nature, reduced pollution, and opportunities for economic development. By working together, the city and its residents can create a vibrant, sustainable, and connected urban landscape that promotes health, happiness, and well-being
